- Who killed the wine/spirits industry in nyc? Watch this video for inside information3w
- That’s not what caused this there are a multitude of reasons.
We are experiencing a generational and culture change.
1. The 21-38 year old are not drinking, they are not smoking or socializing.
2. The people that came from the big wine drinking around the world did not pass down the tradition of drinking wine with their family as part of their meal down to their grandchildren.
3. The legalization of marijuana and THC.
4. Half of the country is on weight loss medicine and you cannot drink or eat on the medication.
5. Young people are into eating and drinking healthy and alcohol is not part of it,
6. The young people that graduated college during the pandemic didn’t experience happy hours and socializing.
7. The pandemic gave the liquor industry a false impression that businesses were thriving.
8. This is the lowest amount of consumption by adults since 1939.
9. Restaurants have increased the prices of alcohol to compensate for the increase in food prices.
The prices of alcohol have stayed the same or in some cases have been lowered by suppliers and retailers.
You need to factor all of that and then it makes sense.80 likesReply
